The Logitech MX Keys S is Logitech’s latest attempt at a premium slim keyboard. I’ve been using it for six months as my daily driver. It’s comfortable enough for all-day use, but the price tag demands scrutiny. Here’s what I’ve found.
What You’re Paying For
The main draw is the typing experience. The keys have a good amount of travel for a slim keyboard and are surprisingly quiet. The backlighting is excellent, with smart proximity sensors that activate when your hands approach. I found the sculpted keycaps genuinely helpful for accuracy, especially when touch-typing for extended periods. The build quality feels solid and it doesn’t flex under pressure.
The Compromise: Key Feel
While the key travel is decent, the overall feel is still a bit mushy. It lacks the crispness and feedback of a mechanical keyboard, which some users will miss. Also, the top row of function keys and media controls feel cramped.
