Logitech Lift — Best Vertical Mouse

The Logitech Lift is the vertical mouse we recommend to anyone with wrist pain from a traditional flat mouse. A 57-degree angle puts your hand in a natural handshake position, and Logitech's MX-class tracking means you don't sacrifice precision for comfort.

The Logitech Lift is the vertical mouse we recommend to anyone who has started to feel wrist pain from a traditional flat mouse. A 57-degree angle puts your hand in a natural handshake position, and Logitech’s MX-class tracking means you don’t sacrifice precision for comfort the way you did with cheap vertical mice five years ago.

The angle actually helps

A traditional mouse forces your forearm to pronate (rotate palm-down), which over 8-hour days strains the wrist extensors and contributes to carpal tunnel symptoms. A vertical mouse keeps your forearm in a neutral handshake position, which is the same orientation physiotherapists recommend for typing posture. After 3 weeks of adjustment, most of our testers reported meaningful wrist pain reduction — including two who had been sleeping in wrist splints.

Tracking that doesn’t feel like a compromise

The Lift uses the same 4000 DPI optical sensor lineage as the MX Anywhere, so tracking on glass, laminate, and fabric mouse pads is all comfortable. Six programmable buttons cover the productivity shortcuts you’d expect, and the SmartWheel gives notched control without the freewheeling of the MX Master 3S.

The tradeoff

The Lift is sized for small and medium hands. If you have large hands (palm length over 19 cm), buy the Logitech MX Vertical instead — the Lift will feel cramped. The Lift is also not ambidextrous — there are separate left-hand and right-hand versions.

Bottom line: Best vertical mouse under $80. Buy if you feel any wrist strain from your current mouse.
